Oracle Hates You Part 1 - Spaces

Oracle doesn't like spaces in file or folder names. If Oracle or one of it's tools tries to access anything (like data files) in a folder with spaces, it will fail.

Spaces in filenames have been supported since MS-DOS. It's been common on Windows systems for over a decade. You'd think by now Oracle would learn how to deal with them. Everyone else has.

What elevates this issue from a mere annoyance is Oracle's installation program. When you install an Oracle product on Windows it will often put stuff in a directory based on the current user's username. I tend to use 'Andrew Faust' as my username on several computers.
